To create skill-based employment opportunities for promising young people, Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) and the Business Promotion Council (BPC) jointly organized an eight-day training workshop titled “Hands-on Workshop on Computer Hardware Servicing to Generate Skill-Based Employment Opportunity”, focusing on Laptop Motherboard Repair and Servicing Level-2, held from April 4 to April 12.

The closing ceremony of the training workshop was held on Sunday evening, April 12, at the BCS Innovation Center.

The chief guest at the event was Dr. Md. Razzakul Islam, Director of the Business Promotion Council (BPC) and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce.

In his speech as the chief guest, Dr. Md. Razzakul Islam said that the importance of the hardware sector is increasing significantly in Bangladesh as well as worldwide. With the remarkable advancement of information technology over time, the demand for computer and laptop motherboard servicing is also increasing across the globe. Therefore, there is a bright career prospect in this sector. He noted that the global market size of this sector is approximately 5 trillion dollars. He also said that most of the population in Bangladesh is young, and there is significant potential within them. However, despite this potential, it is often not possible to make the expected contribution to the national economy.

Addressing the trainees, he said that they should develop themselves in such a way that they can become entrepreneurs by utilizing their skills, competence, and immense potential. He encouraged them to use their skills to create employment opportunities for at least five other unemployed youths. He urged the trainees not to search for jobs but rather to become job creators through their own initiatives.

Dr. Md. Razzakul Islam further said that BCS and BPC have been jointly conducting such training workshops for a long time. He also mentioned that BPC is planning to organize more advanced-level training programs on laptop motherboard repair and servicing in the future.

Other speakers at the event included BPC Assistant Director Md. Faisal Khan, BCS Joint Secretary Ahsanul Islam Naushad, Treasurer Abul Hasan, Director Md. Iqbal Hossain, and Course Coordinator and Director of Computer City Technology Monirul Haque Babu. Also present were trainer Md.
