Nagad has set a new transaction record in the first quarter (January–March) of the current year. During this period, the company’s total transactions exceeded Tk 1,11,355 crore, which is approximately 21 percent higher than the same period of the previous year.

The company stated that new milestones were also achieved in customer engagement and transaction volume during this time. With consistent growth, Nagad has maintained a strong position in the country’s mobile financial services sector.

Compared to different quarters of 2025, transactions in the first quarter of 2026 increased significantly. On a monthly basis, the highest transactions were recorded in January and March, although there was a slight decline in February.

In this quarter, Nagad set new records across all segments, including bank add money, payments, remittance, person-to-person transactions, cash-in, and cash-out. Significant progress was also made in the distribution of government allowances and stipends.

In the first quarter of 2025, Nagad’s transactions stood at Tk 92,054 crore. In the following quarter, it slightly declined to Tk 91,333 crore. However, in the third quarter, transactions recovered to Tk 92,125 crore. In the final quarter of the year, Nagad achieved the milestone of Tk 1 lakh crore in a single quarter for the first time, reaching Tk 1,02,381 crore.

Continuing this strong performance trend, transactions in the first quarter of 2026 further increased to Tk 1,11,355 crore, which is 8.77 percent higher than the last quarter of the previous year.

On a monthly basis, transaction volumes over the last three months were as follows—Tk 40,301 crore in January, which was the highest monthly transaction amount at that time. In March, this figure was surpassed, reaching Tk 41,469 crore. In between, during the election period, some restrictions were imposed for several days on transactions of Nagad and other mobile financial service operators. As a result, the transaction volume during that period (Tk 29,585 crore) was slightly lower.

The company’s Administrator, Md. Motasim Billah, said that customer confidence is increasing due to comparatively lower costs, free send money services, and affordable remittance facilities, which are acting as the main drivers of transaction growth.
