To make mobile financial services (MFS) more secure and prevent their misuse in criminal activities, bKash has been organizing a series of training workshops across the country. According to bKash officials, nearly 4,500 law enforcement investigators have participated in these workshops held at various Bangladesh Police units.

Continuing this initiative, a day-long workshop on “Investigation and Prevention of Mobile Financial Service Misuse” was held at a local hotel in collaboration with the Sylhet Range Police, attended by 50 investigators.

Sylhet Range DIG Md. Mushfequr Rahman attended as the chief guest, while bKash was represented by former Additional IGP of Bangladesh Police and advisor Dr. Md. Najibur Rahman NDC, and EVP & Head of External Affairs Major A. K. M. Monirul Karim (Retd.).

The workshops provide detailed guidance on how information about criminal networks can be used to identify culprits and bring them under the law. Topics covered include techniques to trace lost customer funds using technology, monitoring digital transactions to prevent crimes such as kidnappings, and establishing quick communication with bKash officials for investigative purposes.

Additionally, the workshops highlight the immediate steps law enforcement can take during any criminal incident involving MFS.

Since 2017, bKash has conducted similar training for investigators in various regions. Over the past three months alone, workshops were held in Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Rangpur, Lalmonirhat, Satkhira, Sunamganj, and Sylhet, with 400 investigators participating.
