Grameenphone Guides Growth of Chittagong as a Smart City

To accelerate the development of a smart city for Chittagong residents, the Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) has signed an agreement with Grameenphone, one of the country’s leading telecommunications service providers. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on September 15, Monday, at the CCC office in the presence of Chittagong City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain and Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman.

The signing ceremony was attended by CCC Secretary Mohammad Ashraful Amin, Grameenphone Chief Business Officer Dr. Asif Naimur Rashid, Chief Financial Officer Otto Magne Risback, and senior officials from both organizations.

Commenting on the partnership, Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said, “This partnership will help enhance city services through modern technology, increase transparency, and ensure greater convenience for citizens. With Grameenphone, we aim to set a benchmark for smart city solutions in the country. Our priority is that citizens enjoy faster, simpler, and more reliable services, which will improve their daily quality of life.”

Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman added, “We believe digital innovation can transform how cities deliver services to their citizens. This collaboration with the Chittagong City Corporation is a significant step toward building a smarter and more connected Chittagong.
