As-Sunnah Foundation Guides Remittance Warriors on Tech Safety and Remote Parenting
As-Sunnah Foundation has organized an awareness programme for expatriate remittance earners, focusing on safe use of technology and remote parenting. Titled the “Remittance Warriors’ Guideline Workshop,” the event brought together more than 450 expatriate Bangladeshis working in 46 countries, representing 54 districts across Bangladesh.
Held on Saturday, January 10, the workshop turned into a vibrant gathering, with strong participation from expatriates originating from remote and border regions such as Panchagarh, Kurigram, Patuakhali, and Satkhira. Organizers said the enthusiasm and sincerity of the participants added new momentum to the initiative.
The primary objective of the workshop was to discuss the real-life challenges faced by expatriates, provide practical guidance, and raise awareness on key issues. Experts spoke on topics including migration, employment, financial management, legal assistance, and social security.
The welcome address was delivered by As-Sunnah Foundation founder Shaykh Ahmadullah, who shared insights from his own expatriate experience, noting that during his 10 years abroad, he acquired skills such as computer operation, driving, and video editing.
A dedicated session addressed family management and remote parenting, highlighting practical strategies for raising children from abroad. Participants shared personal experiences and discussed effective approaches to maintaining parental responsibility despite physical distance.
During the open discussion segment, Saudi Arabia–based expatriate Moniruzzaman from Feni district urged the government to introduce interest-free loans for expatriates through the Probashi Kallyan Bank. His proposal received strong vocal support from fellow participants.
At the conclusion of the workshop, many expatriates remarked that they were unaware of any previous initiative that addressed expatriate problems and opportunities so comprehensively. They called for such programmes to be held regularly.
Organizers stated that similar public welfare and awareness initiatives involving expatriates and professionals from various sectors would continue in the future, Insha’Allah.
