HP Highlights High-Performance, Low-Cost Laptops with Snapdragon Chips

HP has unveiled its latest additions to the Omnibook 5 series, introducing affordable laptops powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X and X Plus chips. Announced at Computex 2025, the new models promise enhanced performance and energy efficiency at a lower price point.
The 14-inch Omnibook 5 will start at $799, while the 16-inch variant will have a base price of $849, according to a report from Engadget. Previously, users had to purchase the premium Omnibook X series—priced above $1,000—to access Snapdragon-powered laptops. Now, these ARM-based devices are more accessible, complete with integrated Copilot+ AI features like Recall, Click to Do, and advanced Windows search functionalities.
The new Omnibook 5 models include 2K OLED displays, up to 34 hours of battery life, and fast charging support that powers the device to 50% in just 30 minutes. Users can connect a 5K display or two 4K monitors simultaneously. For virtual meetings, the laptops come equipped with a 1080p IR camera and Audio Boost 2.0 technology for superior audio quality and noise cancellation.
The 14-inch model will be available in June through Amazon and Microsoft, with broader availability—including HP’s official website, Best Buy, and Costco—expected in July. The 16-inch version is scheduled to hit the market in July.
