BISA Hosts Iftar Gathering and Networking Event with ICT Stakeholders

The Bangladesh ICT Stakeholders Alliance (BISA) organized an iftar gathering followed by a networking session, bringing together representatives from various ICT organizations, entrepreneurs, technologists, and policymakers. 

The event was attended by Posts, Telecommunications, Science and Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam as the chief guest. Liberation War Affairs Minister Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan and adviser to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology Rehan Asif Asad joined as special guests. 

The programme was presided over by Dr. Mustafa Rafiqul Islam Duke, president of BISA. The session was moderated by BISA adviser Shamim Azad.

Among the speakers were Major General A.S.M. Ridwanur Rahman, Director General of the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS); political analyst Dr. Maruf Mallick; BNP National Executive Committee member Faisal Alim; BNP’s joint secretary for information and technology affairs H.M. Saif Ali Khan; BISA chief adviser Engineer Md. Jewel; founding member Md. Samiul Islam; director of Bangladesh Association of Call Center & Outsourcing (BACCO) Shaima Shawkat Ali; adviser Raj Masud Farhad; and NICETF President Rafael Kabir, along with leaders from various ICT-related organizations. 

Speakers at the event emphasized that Bangladesh’s ICT sector is expanding rapidly and that stronger coordination and collaboration among stakeholders are essential for sustainable growth. They noted that BISA aims to provide a common platform to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators to accelerate the country’s digital economy. 

The discussion also highlighted the importance of nurturing technology-driven entrepreneurship, fostering innovation, promoting startup development, and increasing investment in the ICT sector.

Following the formal discussion, participants joined the iftar and networking session, exchanging ideas and exploring ways to further advance the development of Bangladesh’s ICT industry.
