The announcement was made on Thursday, 5 February, at a press briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road in the capital, where Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam shared the details.
Earlier, the government invited nominations for the Ekushey Padak 2026 in late July last year, with a deadline set for 30 October of the same year.
Notably, Marina Tabassum received the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2016 for the Baitur Rouf Mosque, built on land donated by her grandmother in the Dakshinkhan area of northern Dhaka.
