Phones Found, Faith Restored — DMP’s Paltan Police Return 46 Lost Mobiles

In a commendable act of service, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Paltan Model Police Station has recovered 46 lost mobile handsets and returned them to their rightful owners.

Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of DMP, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, confirmed the information on Saturday, May 1.

Citing Paltan Model Police Station, Muhammad Talebur Rahman stated that based on general diary (GD) entries filed by mobile owners after losing their phones in various incidents, the Paltan police used technological means to trace and recover 46 mobile phones from different parts of the country between October 1 and 29. Under the direction of senior authorities, Assistant Commissioner of Motijheel Zone Hussain Muhammad Farabi and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Iqbal Hossain of Paltan Model Police Station played active roles in the recovery process.

According to sources, on Wednesday, October 29, the recovered mobile phones were officially handed over to their respective owners at a ceremony held in the conference room of Paltan Model Police Station. The event was attended by Assistant Commissioner of Motijheel Zone Hussain Muhammad Farabi, Officer-in-Charge Nasirul Amin, and the Second Officer of the station.

In addition, over the past ten months, Paltan Model Police have recovered and returned more than 400 lost mobile phones to their genuine owners.

The mobile phone owners, delighted to have their lost devices restored in such a short time, expressed their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police for their dedicated efforts.
