The event will be held at the Conference Room of the Center for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS), University of Dhaka, from 3:15 pm to 5:30 pm.
According to the organizers, “Employment Landscape for Biotechnology Graduates in Bangladesh: Barriers, Challenges, and Pathways to Progress” aims to bring together representatives from universities, research institutions, and the industrial sector to engage in an open discussion about the current employment situation for biotechnology graduates in Bangladesh. The dialogue will focus on identifying existing barriers, discussing possible solutions, and devising strategies to enhance job opportunities in the field.
Distinguished figures from leading research organizations, universities, and industries across the country will participate in the event. Among them are the Director of the National Institute of Biotechnology (NIB), the Principal Scientific Officer of the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), the Vice-Chancellors of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University and Pabna University of Science and Technology, as well as faculty members from biotechnology departments of the University of Dhaka and several other universities.
The roundtable is jointly organized by the Network of Young Biotechnologists of Bangladesh (NYBB), the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of the University of Dhaka, and the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Club (GEBC).
Notably, since its inception in 2005, the NYBB has been serving as a leading national platform representing young biotechnologists, researchers, and students in Bangladesh. The organization has been continuously working to raise awareness about biotechnology and promote research and innovation-based activities in the field.
This roundtable discussion is expected to play a significant role in shaping future directions and fostering solution-oriented dialogue for the employment of young biotechnologists in Bangladesh.
