Daffodil Diploma Day: Distinction, Dedication, and Digital Drive

Daffodil Polytechnic Institute hosted its second convocation ceremony for graduating diploma engineers, with 400 diploma degree holders participating in the event. Among them, the top 15 students on the merit list received gold medals in various categories, while three students were awarded the Chairman’s Award and two others were honored with the Successful Alumni Award.

The ceremony was held on September 5, Friday, at Daffodil Plaza in Sobhanbagh, Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The chief guest was Mir Zahid Hasan, Project Director of the Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET) project under the Directorate of Technical Education, with the rank of Additional Secretary. Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of the Daffodil family, attended as a distinguished guest.

Special guests included Engineer Mohammad Ruhul Amin, Chairman of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board; Engineer Mohammad Rakibul Hasan, Deputy Director of the ASSET Project; Al Masud Karim, Secretary of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board; K. M. Hasan Ripon, Executive Director of Skills and Employment Ecosystem of the Daffodil family; Rathindra Nath Das, Executive Director of Institutions under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board within the Daffodil family; and Acting Principal of Daffodil Polytechnic Institute S. M. Zahirul Islam Forhad, among others.

Addressing the graduates, chief guest Mir Zahid Hasan said: “With this graduation ceremony, your institutional education has come to an end. Now is the time to apply your knowledge for the welfare of the country and its people. If your education does not serve society and the nation, it will be a grave injustice and a tremendous waste of your parents’, teachers’, and institution’s collective efforts. Therefore, today you must pledge to give back manifold what you have received, to love your country, and to contribute to its development. This is possible through the advancement of technical education and skills. China is a shining example of how a nation can reach the pinnacle of progress through the development of technical education.”

Engineer Mohammad Ruhul Amin, Chairman of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, remarked: “The Bangladesh of tomorrow will be the Bangladesh of skills. At this moment, there is an enormous demand for technically skilled individuals both at home and abroad, especially in Japan. We are fortunate as a nation to have a 65% demographic dividend, which we can utilize to produce skilled manpower to meet this demand.”

Speaking as a distinguished guest, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of the Daffodil family, stated: “Daffodil Polytechnic Institute has considered innovation as a catalyst in education and has ensured the complete digital transformation of its academic system.
