BPO Bangladesh 2025 Concludes with a Call for Innovation and Global Integration

The two-day BPO Summit Bangladesh 2025 concluded with a resounding commitment to drive the country’s presence in the global IT and outsourcing market through innovative solutions and capacity-building in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. With over 25 organizations showcasing their solutions and nine thematic seminars held, the summit brought together tech enterprises, policymakers, professionals, and international stakeholders under one roof.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, BACCO President Tanvir Ibrahim highlighted the sector's achievements, saying, “BACCO has already created over 85,000 employment opportunities and generates an annual revenue of USD 850 million from the BPO sector.”
A total of 86 speakers, including national and international IT experts, corporate leaders, and senior government officials, participated in various seminars and workshops. The discussions focused on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, future employment trends, skill development, and IT policy, outlining a comprehensive vision for Bangladesh’s digital future.
One of the key sessions focused on women in the workplace, emphasizing leadership, safety, and equal opportunities. Speakers underscored that women’s skills are indispensable to the growth of the BPO industry and called for an inclusive and empowering work environment.
Youth participation was vibrant, particularly in career counseling sessions and the job fair. Special workshops for students interested in the outsourcing sector provided insights into real-world opportunities and career development. Over 100 CVs were submitted at the job fair, which led to more than 100 employment placements.
Another highlight was the series of seminars on banking, mobile financial services (MFS), and international payment gateways. These featured representatives from domestic and foreign financial institutions and diplomatic experts who addressed the flow of funds in outsourcing, global investment opportunities, partnership expansion, and sustainable export growth.
The closing ceremony, held on the evening of June 22, was graced by Dr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser (Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance) as the chief guest. Among the special guests were Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman; Foreign Secretary (East) Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam; Director General of the ICT Directorate Abu Sayed; BACCO President Tanvir Ibrahim; and General Secretary Foysal Alim.
Chairing the session, ICT Division Secretary Shish Hayder Chowdhury opened the proceedings with remarks on the achievements and future roadmap of BACCO and the BPO industry. He reiterated the government’s support, stating, “The growth of the BPO sector is becoming a key pillar of our technology-driven economy. To engage youth in this field, we must provide proper guidance and training. The BPO Summit creates that opportunity and helps our future generation transform the promise of export earnings into reality.”
Tanvir Ibrahim stated, “With more than 430 member organizations, BACCO is leading the BPO sector in Bangladesh. Our goal is to create 300,000 sustainable jobs and generate USD 5 billion in export income by 2030. This summit marks a significant milestone toward that vision.”
Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman added, “The BPO sector has opened new horizons for export earnings. The Ministry of Commerce will continue to provide policy support for its development.”
Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized diplomatic collaboration: “A more coordinated diplomatic effort is required to present Bangladesh’s BPO sector globally. This summit is a crucial step in building those international connections.”
Abu Sayed of the ICT Directorate remarked, “In the era of the fourth industrial revolution, the BPO industry is playing a vital role in youth employment through technological advancement. The ICT Directorate will continue to support this journey.”
In his closing remarks, BACCO General Secretary Foysal Alim said, “This summit has shown us how to build a stronger community. For today’s youth, BPO is not just a job—it's a career.” He added, “Bangladeshi freelancers are a formidable force in the global outsourcing ecosystem. We hosted special sessions to highlight their challenges and potential. Going forward, BACCO will work closely with the government and international partners to support their development.”
The summit also welcomed diplomatic representatives from various countries who expressed positive views on Bangladesh’s potential in the global BPO landscape. Technology journalists, media representatives, university faculty, corporate leaders, and thousands of visitors also participated in the event.
