Eid OTT Boom: Bangladeshi Streaming Platforms Unveil Films, Series and Music Specials
A major lineup of new films, web films, series, and music releases has arrived across Bangladesh’s OTT platforms ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. From romance, mystery, thriller, and action to folk-fusion music, audiences are getting a diverse range of entertainment content this festive season. YouTube channels have also become highly active with special Eid productions.
Marking the occasion, Bangladeshi streaming platform Bongo unveiled its original web film Tajmahal through a grand premiere held on May 24, Sunday, at Jamuna Future Park’s Blockbuster Cinemas.
Expressing excitement about the project, Bongo’s Chief of Content Mushfiqur Rahman said Tajmahal is not just a story, but an emotional portrayal of sacrifice and human connection.
Director Wahid Anam, who returned to directing after a long break, said they had created a love story that transcends geographical and social boundaries.
Speaking about her first work on a Bangladeshi OTT platform, actress Sreeja Dutta said Tajmahal portrays an emotional relationship between two people from both sides of Bengal. The web film stars Faizul Yamin and Sreeja Dutta in lead roles.
Meanwhile, the much-discussed film Nakfuler Kabya, whose release had earlier been announced, has now been postponed. However, director and producer Muhammad Mostafa Kamal Raj is bringing several Eid special productions through the CinemaWala YouTube channel, including single-episode dramas and a special series.
Among the key attractions is a seven-episode Qurbani special edition of the popular drama series Dena Paona.
