To make international medical services more accessible in the country’s healthcare sector, a significant bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between international medical facilitator Chikitsa International and the country’s leading telecom operator Grameenphone.

As a result, Grameenphone’s GP-Star customers and employees will gain access to priority-based medical services at international hospitals. In particular, this will enable faster access to treatment in countries such as India, Thailand, Singapore, and Dubai. Additionally, customers will be able to enjoy special benefits at Manipal Hospital in India.

These details were disclosed in a press release issued by Chikitsa International on Wednesday, 19 March.

At the MoU signing ceremony, Grameenphone was represented by Head of Partnership Munia Gani, Partnership Manager Munmun Khan, Naser Ahmed, and Khandakar Hasan Shahriar. On behalf of Chikitsa International, Chief Operating Officer Muntasir Mahmud and Managing Director Md. Tanvir Morshed attended the event. Swati Agarwal, Senior Executive of Manipal Hospital in India, joined the event online.

Speaking at the program, Munia Gani said that ensuring international healthcare access is part of their commitment to delivering the highest standard of service to customers, which will expand opportunities for receiving advanced treatment abroad.

On the other hand, Managing Director of Chikitsa International, Md. Tanvir Morshed, said, “Healthcare services cannot be confined within the borders of a single country. This MoU will further strengthen the concept of ‘Care Beyond Boundary’.”

At the same time, Manipal Hospital representative Swati Agarwal stated that their institution is working to deliver world-class healthcare services to all by integrating digital technology with skilled medical professionals.

Stakeholders believe that through this agreement, international-standard healthcare services will become more accessible, efficient, and affordable for GP-Star customers.
