Mufti Amir Hamza, the widely discussed Member of Parliament from Kushtia-3 constituency, had lost access to his verified Facebook page after 2:00 pm on February 5. He regained the page on February 10. Subsequently, on February 12, he won the parliamentary election and wrote “Alhamdulillah” in a red post. On February 17, he returned to discussion among netizens with a post reading “Gaddari Shuru” (Betrayal Begins), followed by another brief post stating “Inquilab Zindabad” (Long Live the Revolution). Since the recovery of his page, his posts had largely been short and concise.

However, in the early hours of Friday, February 27, one of his Facebook posts went viral within moments. In the post, he made a special request to his supporters.

In his appeal, he urged supporters not to respond with offensive language in places where he faces harsh criticism or what he described as media trial.

In the post, he wrote: “Dear countrymen and all my supporters from every class, I humbly request that wherever media trials are conducted about me or harsh words are spoken about me, you should not set an example by responding to negativity with negative language.”

He further stated that supporters may politely explain matters if they wish, or remain silent and avoid engagement.

Under no circumstances, he urged, should anyone use even the slightest offensive remark on his behalf. “It is our desire that a believer’s tongue will safeguard another believer,” MP Amir Hamza mentioned.

Referring to criticism against him, he said that Allah is sufficient for him in such matters. He claimed that he is not disturbed by such criticism and asserted that “surely truth will prevail over falsehood.”

Following the publication of the post, it spread rapidly across Facebook and generated widespread discussion. Within two hours of being posted, it had received 58,000 reactions, nearly 4,000 comments, and had been shared 1,200 times.
