After returning to the country after 17 long years, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman presented his ‘I Have a Plan’ initiatives to the voters of his constituency. He shared these plans at a prayer and discussion meeting organised by Banani Society on Tuesday, January 20th, at Chairman Bari ground in Banani, Dhaka, seeking blessings for the departed soul of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

Regarding the IT sector, Tarique Rahman said initiatives will be taken to bring platforms like PayPal to Bangladesh and IT parks will be activated. These IT parks will have facilities like free Wi-Fi and free working spaces.

The BNP Chairman also mentioned plans to connect monorails from Mohammadpur, Banani, and other areas to the metro rail. Citing examples of European countries, he said public representatives there use public transport.

During the event, Tarique Rahman stated that a comprehensive and well-structured plan has been formulated to address the country's ongoing waterlogging issues, environmental pollution, educational reforms, youth unemployment, and the healthcare sector crisis.

He mentioned that the capacity of both government and private nurseries in every sub-district will be enhanced, and a two-year research project has been conducted by experts for environment-friendly afforestation. Based on this research, suitable trees for different regions of the country have been identified.

Pointing out the decline in Dhaka's greenery, he said that upon returning to the country after a long time, he observed a significant reduction in greenery and a drier environment in the capital city compared to before. If BNP comes to power, a target of planting 25 crore trees in five years will be implemented.

Highlighting the healthcare sector crisis, he stated that Dhaka city lacks a central ambulance system, and medical waste management is not properly developed. This is increasing health risks.

Regarding waste management, he said that approximately 7,000 tonnes of waste are generated daily in Dhaka city. There are plans to produce energy and recycle this waste.
