The Broadband Expo 2026 will conclude with a traditional Mezbani feast. The expo will begin on 13 April, Monday at the China Friendship Conference Center, where university students will showcase 25 innovative projects based on AI, IoT, and robotics. Alongside this, from 10am to 8pm every day, participants will present the full scope of broadband services across 10 pavilions, 35 mini pavilions, and 20 stalls. There will also be an experience zone where visitors can directly view and experience these technologies.

In addition, various information technology and telecommunications organizations will display their services, software, hardware, and network products. Alongside local entrepreneurs, 2 foreign vendors are also participating in the fair.

These details were shared at a press conference held on 11 April, Saturday at the permanent office of the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) in Banani, Dhaka.

At the press conference, ISPAB President Aminu Hakim presented details of the fair. Other attendees included the organization’s General Secretary Nazmul Karim Bhuiya, Vice President Niyamul Haque Khan, Joint Secretary Fuad Ahmed Sharfuddin, and Treasurer Moin Uddin Ahmed, among others.

During the Q&A session, the ISPAB President stated that the organization will soon raise objections regarding various clauses in the existing telecom policy before the new government. He said that broadband imitation percentage in the country remains at a concerning level, and neither the government nor customers are satisfied with it. He expressed willingness to work with the new government to address the situation. Since the government is continuing with the old policy framework, the organization is not planning any major movement at this stage, but is strongly demanding renewal of licenses as many have already expired.

Expressing hope that the new government will address the legitimate demands of telecom stakeholders, he further said that the interim government did not consult all stakeholders in formulating telecom guidelines and policies, despite repeated demands. He added that they expect the current government to formulate telecom policy through consultation with all stakeholders.

The press conference also announced that the chief guest at the opening ceremony on 13 April will be Information Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan MP. Special guests will include Prime Minister’s Adviser Rehan A. Asad, Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division Abdun Naser Khan, and Chairman of BTRC Major General (Retd.) Md. Emdad ul Bari.

Special guests will include Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation Abdus Salam, Secretary of the ICT Division Kazi Anwar Hossain, and Vice Chairman of BTRC Abu Bakar Siddique.
