BASIS Administrator Stressed Industry-Ready IT Skills at Etova’s Training Graduation Ceremony

Developing a skilled workforce in the information technology sector requires practical, hands-on training, said Abul Khayer Mohammad Hafizullah Khan, Administrator of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).

He made the remarks on Wednesday, 26 November, while speaking as a special guest at the “Industrial Training, Farewell and Appreciation Ceremony” organised by Etova Technology at a prominent hotel in the capital. At the event, certificates and honorary crests were presented to 200 trainees who completed the industry-focused training programme.

The BASIS administrator further said, “The IT sector is now one of the major stakeholders in the country’s development journey. Therefore, for their own advancement as well as the country's progress, students must prepare themselves not only for this sector but also strive to become entrepreneurs in other industries.”

Khandaker Mahbub Uddin Khokon, President of the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association, attended the programme as the chief guest. Among others present were Monzur Mohammad Shahriar, Project Director of the DEIID Project under the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority; Mustafa Kamal Duke, Member of the BASIS Supportive Committee and Managing Director of Flora Telecom; BASIS Supportive Committee Member Rowshan Kamal James; young entrepreneur and political organiser Robiul Islam Noyon; and senior officials, trainers, and trainees of Etova.

Chief guest Khandaker Mahbub Uddin Khokon said, “Practical training enhances the efficiency and confidence of young people. Such initiatives are highly commendable for strengthening human resource development.”

DEIID Project Director Monzur Mohammad Shahriar said, “The core goal of the DEIID project is to enhance industry-ready skills among youth. Etova’s initiative will further contribute to achieving that goal.”

Robiul Islam Noyon noted that industry-oriented training significantly strengthens a young person’s readiness to work in real-world professional environments.

Rowshan Kamal James added that BASIS welcomes every initiative aimed at developing a skilled IT workforce, and that Etova’s efforts are undoubtedly admirable.

In his presidential remarks, Etova Technology CEO Ferdous Alam said, “Our objective is not only to deliver training but to fully prepare young people for real industry work. In the coming days, we plan to expand our training initiatives and career support programmes.”

During the event, trainees shared their experiences and received guidance on future career paths.
