Bangladesh Teams Excel at World Robot Olympiad 2025 in Singapore

A total of nine teams comprising 23 young participants represented Bangladesh at the 22nd World Robot Olympiad (WRO) finals held in Singapore. Competing alongside 595 teams from about 95 countries, they took part in four categories: Future Engineers, Future Innovators, RoboSports and RoboMission.

According to the published results, Bangladesh achieved several notable global rankings. In the Future Engineers category, Team LazyGo secured 6th place among 65 teams worldwide, while Echo Drift placed 29th. In the senior group of the Future Innovators category, SORALABS ranked 9th and Team Increvo secured the 13th position among 73 teams. In the junior group, Cyber Squad achieved 9th place out of 60 teams. In RoboSports, FusionBotics finished 4th in the group stage among 56 teams.

In RoboMission, Team X-Fanatic ranked 77th out of 98 teams in the senior group; in the junior group, Nexora placed 99th among 113 teams, while Dominus ranked 94th among 98 teams in the elementary category.

Future Innovators (Junior):

  • Cyber Squad: Coach Taef Mahmud Uday (University of Scholars); team leader Afia Humayra (Birshreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf Public College) and member Humayra Afia (British Standard School).

Future Innovators (Senior):

  • Team Increvo: Team leader Nafis Ishtiaq Tawfiq Ontu; members Md. Abdullah Al Mizan and Md. Sajjad Al Fuad (all from Cantonment Public School & College, Saidpur).

  • SORALABS: Coach Sudipto Mondol (RUET); team leader Fatin Al Habib Nafis (Mastermind English Medium School) and member Fatema Harun (Holy Cross College).

RoboSports:

  • FusionBotics: Team leader Mehtaj Uddin Ahmed (BAF Shaheen English Medium College); member Muaz Ibne Bashar (Dhaka Residential Model College).

RoboMission:

  • Team X-Fanatic (Senior): Team leader Mahir Tajwar Chowdhury (Mirzapur Cadet College); members Amin Anwar Ayman (Jhenaidah Cadet College) and Muammar Daiyan Oritra (RAJUK Uttara Model College).

  • Nexora (Junior): Team leader Afifa Jafrin; members Ishrat Jahan Mim and Mariam Hossain Nancy (Ramu Cantonment English School & College).

  • Dominus (Elementary): Team leader Ruwaiza Amira Sultan (Playpen) and Yusuf Abdullah Bin Alam (Lighthouse International School).

The global robotics and technology event took place from 26–28 November at the Marina Bay Sands Expo in Singapore.

Earlier, regional and national rounds were held in August and September to form the Bangladeshi delegation. The selected teams underwent nearly one month of training before the global finals. Since 2020, Bangladeshi teams have been participating in the WRO finals through the WRO Bangladesh (WROBd) programme, organised by the Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN). Creative IT and Brain Station 23 supported this year’s event.
