Bangladeshi Bright Minds Bag Big at World Innovation Competition and Exhibition

Young and teenage innovators from Bangladesh returned home laden with honors after making a remarkable mark at the 7th edition of the World Innovation Competition and Exhibition (WICE). Competing as 17 teams with 50 participants under the banner of Dreams of Bangladesh, they secured 14 gold and 3 silver medals, showcasing the ingenuity of the nation’s future generation. The victorious teams were accorded a warm reception on October 1 at Akij House in Dhaka.

The international event, WICE 2025, was hosted from September 21 to 25 at SEGi University in Kota Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The competition brought together young innovators from over 27 countries, with more than 1,500 participants presenting groundbreaking projects. Organized jointly by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA) and SEGi University, the platform enabled Bangladeshi teams to compete at a global scale and achieve rare glory.

Among the gold medalists, Kamrul Islam and Fazle Rabbi, students of Computer Science and Engineering at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), won in the IT and Robotics category with their “Agro Doctor” project, an agricultural innovation providing technology-driven solutions. Another BUBT project, “Helmet MQ3” by Mushfiqur Rahman Nafis and Abu Raihan under the team DeltaVault, also secured gold.

In the college category, Chuadanga Science and Robotics Club’s Toha and Zahid Hasan Jihad, with their team’s “Hexaguard Rover” project, earned gold in robotics. Their innovation is a robotic system designed to aid in disaster rescue, surveillance, and security operations in challenging terrains.

At the school level, the “Rescue Rover” team comprising Adiyat Yamin Ryan and Tahmid Bin Alam clinched gold for their “Pothchari 1.0” project. The “ThreatBot” team of Dibyajyoti Saha and Safwan Saeed Ahmed triumphed with their Smart Medical Assistant Bot. Meanwhile, the “Young Sparks of Bangladesh” team—Ahnaf Bin Ashraf Nabil, Ayan Islam Arian, and Labib Islam—won gold with their “Eco Pulse” project. Innovators of the “Eco Fusion” project, namely Ahnaf Abedin, Samnun Siam, Ifraz Mahmud, and Pranchoy Tarafdar, also secured gold. Team Fusion Force members, Jarif Bin Salek, Sasmita Banik, and Mashroor Arefin Bhuiya, further added to the gold tally.

In the elementary category, Faiyaz Bin Iqbal won with the “Holo AI” project. The “Tarar Bari” team, comprising Kaysan Ariz Zayan, Rahmatullah Khan Ayman, and Muntasir Rahman, excelled with a project envisioning humanity’s next habitat beyond Earth.

The “Aqua Bot” team—Ahnaf Safwan Islam, Ayan Rahman, and Anisa Begum—took gold in the school category, as did the “River Guard” team members, Aranya Abir Khan Prapya, Taufiq Ahnaf, and Abrar Sadiq Raha. The “Phantom Forge” team won with their “Floodhawk” project, consisting of Safwan Anwar, Safayat Hossain Rohan, Mehedi Hasan Robin, Abdur Rahman Sadiq Akand, Maysa Rahman, Niaz Morshed Sayem, Yuvraj Sikder, Naid Hossain, and Faizullah Munim.

In the college category, the “Tech Autocrats” team of Hasin Israq Chowdhury Toha, Tanvir Rahman Saad, and Ishtiaq Ahmed Yamin secured gold in the Innovation Social Science category. The “Akash Pathabo” team—Shafi Bin Sultan, Sabik Bin Sultan, and Safwan Sadad—also won gold.

On the silver medal front, three Bangladeshi teams earned distinction: the DeltaVault team led by Mushfiqur Rahman Nafis in the university category, Team Ongona led by Tasahud Bin Wahid in the college category, and the Fusion Force team led by Jarif Bin Salek in the school category.

Bangladesh’s collective achievement at WICE 2025 not only highlights the country’s growing capacity in science, technology, and innovation but also cements its place on the global stage as a hub of promising young talent.
