Digital Media Awards Expands to 19 Categories

The Digital Media Forum (DMF) is set to launch the second edition of the Digital Media Excellence Award, broadening the scope from the previous five categories to 19 this year, including Jury, Expatriate, and Regional categories. A 16-member jury panel has been formed to evaluate the submissions.

Participants can submit their entries via the organization’s website until October 15.

On Thursday evening, October 2, DMF President Delwar Hossain introduced the jury at a ceremony held at a restaurant in Dhaka. Among those who addressed the event were Ruhul Amin Runi, Assistant Managing Director of Daily Prothom Alo’s Digital Business Development Division; Mizanur Rahman, Online In-Charge of Daily Bhorer Kagoj; Badrul Alam Nabil, Head of Online and Programs at MyTV; and Lutfe Chowdhury, Co-founder of Media Agency Ko. Their remarks collectively reflected a shared sentiment—that digital media has now become a mainstream platform, often challenging print and traditional outlets.

Several jury members could not attend due to busy schedules or travel abroad. These include Kamrul Islam, Acting Editor of Dhaka Post; Uday Hakim, Editor of Dhaka Business; Palash Mahmud, Online Editor of Kalbela; Kazi Aulad Hossain, Editor and Publisher of Bangla52News.com; Moin Bakul, Online Head of Amader Shomoy; Sarafat Hossain, Head of Digital at Ittefaq; Rajib Khan, Head of Digital Media at Channel 24; Azad Beg, Digital Growth Editor of The Daily Star; Kabir Ahmed, Head of Digital and Social Media at RTV; and Goutam Mondol, Online In-Charge of Samakal.

The press conference was moderated by jury panel member Dr. Trina Islam, Head of Operations at Business Daily. A welcome address was delivered by Raihan Rafi, Head of the Digital Division at The Business Standard.
