A letter circulating on social media regarding various demands related to the so-called “July Charter” has gone viral, drawing widespread attention and speculation. However, the Police Headquarters has categorically denied its authenticity, labeling it “completely fake and baseless.”

In a statement issued on the night of Saturday, August 2, the Police Headquarters clarified that the letter being widely circulated online was not issued by any official unit of Bangladesh Police.

“The letter falsely uses the official letterhead of the Police Headquarters and contains misleading and fabricated information,” the statement read.

According to the Police Headquarters, the following clarifications are necessary:

  1. The letter was not issued by any department of Bangladesh Police.

  2. The contents of the letter are fictitious, unethical, and contrary to the policies followed by the Police Headquarters.

  3. The individual whose name appears as the signatory of the letter is not employed in the mentioned department.

The Police Headquarters has issued a stern warning, stating that “strict legal action will be taken against those involved in creating or circulating such fake letters.”
