Honda Hints at High-Mileage Budget Bikes with Premium Features
Indian automotive giant Honda is preparing to launch two new fuel-efficient motorcycles—CB125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX—targeted at budget-conscious riders. Although there is no official confirmation on when these bikes will hit the Bangladeshi market, Hindustan Times reports that both models will feature engines with displacements below 125cc, while offering premium-grade design, features, and technology.
According to available details, the Honda CB125 Hornet is equipped with a 123.94cc single-cylinder engine capable of delivering 10.99 bhp and 11.2 Nm of torque. The bike includes a 5-speed gearbox and is fitted with a 4.2-inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and a USB-C charging port. It also features USD front forks, disc brakes on both wheels, and a single-channel ABS.
The CB125 Hornet is expected to compete with models such as the Bajaj Pulsar N125 and other bikes in the 125cc segment. Its estimated price in Bangladesh could be around BDT 155,000.
On the other hand, the Honda Shine 100 DX is projected to deliver the best mileage in its class. It is an upgraded version of the Shine 100, powered by a 98.98cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 7.28 bhp and 8.04 Nm of torque. The bike is equipped with a 4-speed gearbox and notable features such as a headlight cowl with chrome accents, an LCD instrument cluster, and a chrome heat shield on the exhaust.
It also offers a telescopic front fork and a five-step adjustable twin-shock absorber in the rear. The 17-inch alloy wheels are paired with tubeless tires. The Shine 100 DX will be available in four color variants: Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, and Genie Grey Metallic. The expected price in Bangladesh has yet to be announced.
With these upcoming launches, Honda aims to strengthen its foothold in the competitive entry-level commuter segment by blending affordability with performance and modern styling.
