In a limited-capacity seminar titled “Post-July Uprising: Bangladesh’s Prospects and Challenges,” the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority convened a gathering on Thursday, July 24, at the ICT Tower in Agargaon, Dhaka. The event brought together voices from various sectors to reflect on the nation's history, sacrifices, and technology-driven future.

With a focus on educating the new generation about the country’s proud chapters and inspiring them to build a technologically advanced Bangladesh, the organizers emphasized the importance of such discussions in shaping the nation's progress.

Speaking as the chief guest, Secretary of the ICT Division Shish Haider Chowdhury remarked, “The July Uprising reflects the courage of our nation. Through it, we embarked on a new journey, and today, Bangladesh is steadily solidifying its position in the global technology arena.”

An emotionally charged keynote was delivered by Md. Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, father of the martyred United International University student Md. Irfan Bhuiyan, who lost his life during the July movement. Recalling his son’s diary entries and the circumstances of his martyrdom, Mr. Bhuiyan moved many attendees to tears.

Among the speakers was North South University student Ahmed Samran, a frontline activist during the uprising. He spoke about the background of the movement, the crucial role of youth, and the promising future of technology-driven development in the country.

Managing Director (Additional Secretary) of the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, A.K.M. Amirul Islam, who presided over the seminar, said, “This seminar is not only about understanding history but also about learning from it to prepare for the future.”

The discussion highlighted Bangladesh’s proud legacy of sacrifice, the nation’s unwavering resolve to advance, and the pragmatic steps being taken to pursue development rooted in technology.

Representatives from the ICT Division and its affiliated departments, agencies, and projects participated in the seminar.
