Pre-registration for Hajj 2026 is set to commence on July 27, with prospective pilgrims required to deposit an initial amount of Tk 400,000. This announcement was made during a meeting held on the morning of July 21 at the conference room of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, aimed at implementing the roadmap for Hajj 2026. The meeting was presided over by Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain.

According to the Ministry, pilgrims opting for the government-managed Hajj can register through the e-Hajj system, the Labbaik mobile app, Union Digital Centers, divisional and district offices of the Islamic Foundation, the Baitul Mukarram office, and the Ashkona Hajj office. Those planning to perform Hajj under private management must complete registration through an approved Hajj agency.

The Saudi government has stipulated that all final Hajj registrations must be completed by October 12, 2025. Therefore, pilgrims must first complete their pre-registration and subsequently deposit the remaining balance of the Hajj package within this timeline. The Ministry of Religious Affairs will soon announce the final Hajj package, which will include airfare and other expenses associated with the Saudi phase of the pilgrimage.

During the meeting, key elements of the Saudi government’s roadmap for Hajj 2026 and critical guidelines were presented. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has mandated that flight schedules be finalized prior to confirming accommodation contracts in Makkah and Madinah. It has also directed that Qurbani (sacrificial) payments be made via the Nusuk Masa’ar platform and emphasized that no pilgrim without medical fitness should be permitted to undertake the journey.

Failure to adhere to the deadlines set out in the roadmap may result in disqualification from performing Hajj, the Saudi authorities warned.

In support of streamlined Hajj management, the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) submitted a series of proposals during the meeting. These included the finalization of flight schedules before accommodation agreements, making Qurbani and catering services optional, extending the registration deadline, and reducing the Hajj package duration to 35–40 days. The proposals were presented by HAAB President Syed Golam Sarwar and Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumder.

Also present at the meeting were Religious Affairs Secretary A.K.M. Aftab Hossain Pramanik, Additional Secretary Md. Abdul Awal Howlader, Dr. Md. Ayatul Islam, Joint Secretary of the Hajj Division Dr. Md. Manjurul Haque, and members of the Ministry and HAAB’s executive committee.
