Apple Adds Dual Front Cameras to Next iPad Pro for Seamless Orientation

Apple’s upcoming iPad Pro model will feature two front-facing cameras, positioned on both the landscape and portrait edges of the device, according to a report from Bloomberg. This dual-camera setup aims to enhance FaceTime and selfie experiences by keeping the subject centered, regardless of how the iPad is held. The news was also cited by Engadget.

In 2024, Apple moved the front-facing camera on its M4 iPad Pro to the landscape edge, optimizing it for horizontal use. However, this change made unlocking the device with Face ID slightly less convenient during portrait-mode use. The addition of a second front camera in the next iteration addresses that limitation.

The new iPad Pro is expected to be powered by Apple’s next-generation M5 chip, which will offer moderate performance improvements along with enhanced energy efficiency.

Apple is reportedly also working on integrating this new chip into other products, including the Vision Pro, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac.
