In a notable development, protesting students from polytechnic institutes across the country have decided to temporarily relax their pre-announced railway blockade program following an invitation to a meeting facilitated by the Chief Adviser’s intervention and the Education Adviser’s appeal.

This update was conveyed through a late-night video statement on Thursday by central representatives of the Bangladesh Technical Student Movement, Masfik Islam and Zubayer Patwari.

"The next course of action will be determined based on the outcome of the meeting," the video message stated.

Masfik Islam remarked, "A final decision regarding the six-point demand and other matters will be made during the meeting. Based on that decision, further programs will be announced for all polytechnic institutes across the country. All activities at the polytechnic institutes will remain suspended during the meeting."

Zubayer Patwari added, "Certain third parties and vested quarters in Bangladesh are attempting to exploit and discredit our movement. Tomorrow, you must remain extremely vigilant and assert your position clearly. Stand firm against those who try to involve you in unethical actions. We are not against the government; rather, we intend to work with the government to realize the goals of our movement."

The shift in stance signals a willingness to engage in dialogue, though student leaders remain cautious and assertive about the integrity and goals of their protest.
