Air Defense Strengthened: BAF Installs GM 403M Radar at 71 Squadron

In a strategic move to bolster national air defense and enhance technological capabilities, the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) has installed a GM 403M air defense radar at the 71 Squadron.
Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, Chief of Air Staff, inaugurated the radar system at a ceremony attended by senior officials from the Armed Forces Division, as well as the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the inclusion of this state-of-the-art radar is part of an ongoing initiative to modernize and advance the Bangladesh Air Force with contemporary infrastructure and combat systems.
"The inauguration of this radar marks another step forward in our pledge to 'Keep the skies of Bengal free'," ISPR stated. It also emphasized that the radar will significantly strengthen the operational capabilities of the Air Force in terms of air defense, while contributing to the force's growing technological proficiency.
