Postal Department to Create Digital Inventory, Recover Encroached Assets

The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology has directed the creation of a digital inventory of postal department assets while making efforts to recover properties that were previously encroached upon, according to Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser of the Ministry.
Speaking as the chief guest at a meeting with officials of the Directorate of Posts at the Postal Building in Agargaon today, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb emphasized the importance of enhancing the institutional capacity of the postal department to keep pace with the demands of digital transformation.
He instructed officials to ensure quality control of all construction projects under the postal department, as well as to assess the quality of equipment and software.
Regarding various projects, he stated, “No project will be approved without an exit plan. Every project must include a clear exit strategy. The quality of the Development Project Proposal (DPP) must also be ensured.”
Additionally, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb directed officials to explore the feasibility of delivering government services to people's homes via the postal department instead of requiring them to visit offices. He urged them to study successful service models from neighboring countries such as India and Pakistan, rather than relying solely on European examples.
The meeting also featured a detailed discussion on the activities of the Directorate of Posts.
The discussion session was presided over by Dr. Md. Mushfiqur Rahman, Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division, and attended by officials from the postal department.
