ASUS Skips Smartphones in 2026
Taiwan-based technology company ASUS is unlikely to launch any new smartphones this year, according to a new report cited by GSM Arena.
The most recent ASUS smartphone was the Zenfone 12 Ultra, which was unveiled in February last year. Based on the company’s usual release cycle, many had expected the launch of a Zenfone 13 Ultra or a new ROG Phone series in the near future. However, the report claims that ASUS is not planning to announce any new smartphones in 2026.
According to the report, the information came directly from internal sources within ASUS. The company has clarified, however, that support for existing ASUS smartphones—including maintenance, software updates, and warranty services—will continue as usual. Users, therefore, have no reason for concern.
ASUS has not officially disclosed the reasons behind this decision. Industry analysts speculate that weaker-than-expected smartphone sales in recent times may have prompted the company to temporarily step back from the smartphone segment and refocus on computers and laptops. ASUS holds a significantly stronger and more profitable market position in those categories, making the strategic shift commercially sensible.
