PSC Paper Promise Scam: CID Nets Notorious Fraudster

A syndicate that defrauded job seekers by promising “90 percent common suggestions” in various non-cadre exams of the Public Service Commission (PSC) has been exposed. The group lured general job aspirants by circulating offers of so-called guaranteed suggestions, particularly through Facebook pages, ahead of recruitment tests.
The racket promoted last-minute “secret sheets” under flashy slogans such as “Secret sheet for ATO—don’t miss this chance.” These sheets contained 550 multiple-choice questions with answers, claiming candidates would get “80–90 percent exactly common.” The scam offered options such as “cash on delivery for Tk 390, advance Tk 90, Sundarban Courier with full advance payment, or PDF delivery for Tk 200 sent via Messenger, WhatsApp, or email within one minute of payment.”
The fraudsters used personal bKash, Nagad, and Rocket accounts to collect money from unsuspecting candidates. By playing on the desperation of job seekers, they siphoned funds over an extended period in the name of guaranteed question leaks.
One of the key members of the racket, Motiur Rahman, has now been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Motiur, son of Nasir Uddin from Islampur in Jamalpur, had been defrauding aspirants for a long time with false promises of leaked PSC exam questions.
On September 1, the PSC lodged a formal complaint through its assistant, leading to the filing of a case at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station. Based on subsequent investigations, Motiur was apprehended, and two mobile phones along with a laptop used in the fraudulent scheme were seized as evidence.
The arrest was formally announced at a press conference on Wednesday, September 3, at the CID Media Center. “Motiur had been exploiting job seekers for years by dangling false promises of leaked questions,” said Additional DIG Zahidul Islam.
