Pia’s Polite Precaution: Protecting Privacy on Platforms

Model and actress Pia Jannatul recently responded to a netizen who, smitten by love, requested her phone and WhatsApp numbers on social media. Instead of sharing her personal contact, Pia sent the individual the contact number of the Gulshan Police Station. The incident, shared with a screenshot by a Supreme Court lawyer, has drawn widespread attention online.
In a post shared by Pia on Facebook, the unidentified individual wrote to the actress, “I am not a deceitful or bad boy. I have been extremely devoted to you for a long time, and I am your blind fan. Please, do not refuse me and make me your boyfriend.”
He continued, “I am speaking from my heart—I want to create a private and intimate relationship with you forever. No one in this earth will know about our deep romantic friendship except us. I swear by Allah. Every moment I am looking at you; I hope you believe me.”
Finally, the person asked, “Please give me your phone number and WhatsApp number, please.” Pia did not respond to the messages directly but instead provided the number of Gulshan Police Station.
The post has sparked a variety of reactions online. One netizen commented, “If all the obsessed ones message like this, your inbox would be flooded.” Another wrote, “Would it have hurt to give a little love? Even a beautiful person can be loved; what’s the fault in that?”
