In recognition of his significant contributions to ICT journalism, DigiBangla Executive Editor S. M. Imdadul Haque has been awarded by the Department of Posts and Telecommunications. The award was presented in observance of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, celebrated on Saturday, 17 May.

The award ceremony took place at the BTRC headquarters in Dhaka, where dignitaries handed over the honor to Haque. Chief Guest Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Ministries of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, and Youth and Sports, presented the award. He was joined by Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, as well as Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farzana.

As part of the celebration, a total of 10 awards were distributed — including 5 to hackathon winners, 4 to internationally recognized teams, 3 institutions, and 3 individuals. The recipients in the individual category included Professor Dr. A.H.M. Kamal from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Professor Khondaker A. BUET’s Oscillating Pandas emerged as the champion, followed by Red Rebels as the first runner-up, and TingTing as the second runner-up.
