Voices for the Future: YUNet SpeakUp Bangladesh 2025 Concludes with a Call for Confident Communication

The grand finale of YUNet SpeakUp Bangladesh 2025 was held on Friday evening at the Canadian University of Bangladesh, culminating in a powerful showcase of public speaking centered around three core themes: unveiling truth on digital platforms against misinformation, securing a place in the age of artificial intelligence, and fostering leadership through innovative problem-solving.

With the ambition to equip youth with essential soft skills and inspire their participation on global platforms, the event became a celebration of articulate leadership, confidence, and visions for the future—delivered through the voices of the country’s emerging speakers.

Mashrura Meshkat from Sylhet Army IBA won first place, followed by Tasnimul Islam Afif from Rajshahi University as the second-place winner, and Adiba Sultana Alifa from Mohammadpur Preparatory High School, Dhaka, securing third place.

The organizer, Youth Upskill Network (Unet), stated that out of over 800 initial registrations, 20 finalists from across the country were selected through several stages. At the finale in Dhaka, each participant delivered a four-minute speech on one of the three chosen topics in front of a panel of judges. Three winners were ultimately selected, each receiving a prize, while all finalists were honored with trophies and certificates.

The judging panel included Amaan Sulaiman, founder and chief organizer of the English Olympiad; K M Hasan Ripon, Managing Director of GEN Bangladesh and Executive Director & Principal of Daffodil Institute of Engineering and Technology; Solaiman Ahmed Zishan, founder of Public Speaking Official (PSO); and Barrister Rafayeelur Rahman Mehedi, a member of the National Governing Body of JCI Bangladesh.

Professor Dr. H. M. Jahirul Haque, Vice Chancellor of the Canadian University of Bangladesh, attended the event as the chief guest. He remarked, “Those young men and women who know how to speak are the ones who can shape the future. This event has brought together those brave voices.”

Event Director Muhammad Altamis Nabil, Co-founder and CEO of Unet, emphasized, “The stronger the voice of youth, the more prosperous the nation becomes. When young people find their voice, they begin to find their purpose. We organized YUNet SpeakUp Bangladesh with the belief that young people should speak with courage, express their thoughts, and spread messages of positive change throughout society. Each speech today was a blueprint for the future.”

Mahir Ashef, Co-founder and COO of YUNet and the convener of the event, added, “True change begins with self-expression. Through this competition, we aim to nurture a generation that can speak with reason, lead with empathy, and act with awareness. The energy and potential we have seen today—this is just the beginning.”

The event was sponsored by English Therapy, Chomotkar Digital, Global Travels, BASS Network, and the Canadian University of Bangladesh.
