Team Announced After Nationwide Selection Process

The final squad was announced on May 31 by Bangladesh Open Source Network.

The selection followed a rigorous three-month nationwide competition and a national selection camp held from May 20 to 23. Participants were evaluated through multiple rounds of assessments designed to identify the country’s most promising young AI talents.

Following Bangladesh's consistent success in international robotics and information technology competitions, the newly selected team now aims to make its mark on the global stage of artificial intelligence.

Challenging Road to the National Team

The journey began on March 25 with the launch of registration for the 3rd Bangladesh Artificial Intelligence Olympiad.

Students from across the country competed in two categories:

  • AI Quiz
  • AI Challenge

For the first time, the competition featured offline regional rounds in Dhaka, Chattogram, and Saidpur, alongside online e-Olympiad events for participants from regions including Khulna and Rajshahi.

The top 30 contestants from the national round, held in Dhaka on May 16, advanced to the selection camp.

There, participants underwent advanced evaluations involving:

  • Machine learning contests
  • Python notebook assessments
  • Selection examinations
  • Technical and programming challenges

Only the highest-performing students secured places on the final national teams.

Strong Support from Academia and Industry

The initiative aims to develop globally competitive skills in data science and machine learning among Bangladeshi youth.

This year's program received support from several educational institutions, technology companies, and startup organizations, including:

  • Bangladesh University of Business and Technology
  • Rev Chat
  • Brain Station 23
  • Million X Bangladesh
  • Creative IT
  • Bitnar

Organizers and industry leaders expressed optimism that the collaboration between talented young innovators and the country's technology ecosystem will help Bangladesh achieve significant success on the international AI stage while further strengthening the nation's ICT and innovation sectors.
