Startup Surge: Demo Day 2026 Drives Data, Deals, and Digital Growth
The three-day “National Demo Day 2026” concluded with the participation of 1,091 startups, indicating positive growth in revenue, employment, and investment capacity. Among the participating startups, 302 have been elevated to scaleups, while 134 startups have achieved their KPIs.
At the closing ceremony on Thursday afternoon, April 9, the Chief Guest was Mohammad Anwar Uddin, Managing Director of the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority. The session was chaired by Project Director Monjur Mohammad Shahriar, with Nurul Hai, Managing Director of Startup Bangladesh Limited, present as Special Guest.
In his closing remarks, Project Director Monjur Mohammad Shahriar said, “This three-day ‘National Demo Day 2026’ is not just an event, but a significant step toward transforming Bangladesh’s startup ecosystem into a strong, connected, and investment-ready platform. We believe that with proper guidance, mentorship, and investment linkages, our entrepreneurs will be able to establish themselves not only domestically but also on the global stage, contributing positively to the country’s overall economy.”
The three-day innovation showcase was held at the auditorium of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation in Agargaon, under the Startup and Scaleup Program (SSP) of the Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Development (DEIED) project, implemented by the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority under the ICT Division. Participating startups had the opportunity to present their products, services, business models, and growth potential.
During sector-based pitching sessions—particularly on the second day—more than 150 startups presented their business ideas and investment prospects to investors, banks, venture capital firms, and corporate organizations. Rehan Asif Asad, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Science and Technology, engaged directly with the founders of participating startups, holding detailed discussions and exchanges.
He attentively listened to the entrepreneurs’ experiences and expectations regarding innovative ideas, business challenges, investment opportunities, and market expansion strategies. He also emphasized the importance of policy support, expanded use of technology, and creating opportunities for entry into international markets to ensure sustainable growth of startups.
Additionally, through the three-day product expo and networking sessions, effective connections were established among entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives of various organizations, creating new opportunities for future investment, partnerships, and market expansion.
This initiative—combining training, mentorship, and investment linkages under the Startup and Scaleup Program—is playing a significant role in making the country’s startup ecosystem more dynamic and sustainable.
According to stakeholders, such initiatives will help transform Bangladesh’s startup sector into a strong and investment-ready industry in the future, contributing significantly to overall economic growth.
