Flights on the Dhaka–Sylhet–Manchester route operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines will resume from 1 July. Meanwhile, amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East, a total of 419 flights have been cancelled from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport over the past 13 days until Thursday (12 March) afternoon. Among them, 24 flights scheduled for Thursday, 12 March, were cancelled.

The information was provided on Wednesday night, 11 March, by Bosra Islam, an official of the Public Relations Department of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

She said that flight cancellations from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport began on 28 February after several Middle Eastern countries—including Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan—closed their airspace due to security concerns.

She further said that considering passenger demand and under the directives of the Minister and State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has taken steps to relaunch the suspended Dhaka–Sylhet–Manchester route after the upcoming Hajj operations, starting from 1 July. The flight schedule and other detailed information will be announced in due course.
