YouTube Launches “YouTube Labs” for Experimental AI Features
YouTube has announced the launch of its new platform “YouTube Labs,” where users will be able to try out experimental AI technologies. While similar to Google Labs, this initiative is YouTube-focused, reports Engadget.
As part of YouTube Labs, the company has introduced AI hosts on its music app on a trial basis. These AI hosts aim to enrich users’ listening experiences by sharing stories related to songs, trivia for fans, and entertaining commentary. Earlier, Spotify had rolled out a similar AI DJ feature on its platform.
Initially, this facility will be available only to YouTube Premium subscribers, with access limited to a select group of users in the United States. However, the exact number of participants has not yet been disclosed.
In recent months, the use of AI-generated content on YouTube has grown rapidly. The platform has also introduced new AI tools for creators, including the ability to turn conversations into songs, AI-based age verification, and tests of features resembling Google’s controversial AI Overview.
Industry analysts view YouTube’s latest move as another step in the broader expansion of AI integration.
