Samsung’s Galaxy Z Trifold Sells Out Minutes After U.S. Launch
Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Trifold, sold out within minutes of going on sale in the United States. The device officially launched on Friday and was available through Samsung’s own online store as well as Experience Stores. However, almost all units were snapped up in about 20 minutes, according to reports from GSM Arena.
Priced at $2,899, the Galaxy Z Trifold costs nearly $900 more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Samsung has not disclosed the total number of units made available for sale, leaving the true demand unclear.
Previously, the device was offered in South Korea through limited flash sales, where supply was extremely restricted from the start. In the U.S., the Galaxy Z Trifold is currently available only in the “Crafted Black” color and a single 512GB storage version.
Samsung has described the Galaxy Z Trifold primarily as a technology showcase device. It is targeted at foldable phone enthusiasts and tech aficionados. Despite its high price, the company noted that the device is being sold at a loss to demonstrate the capabilities of future foldable technology.
