Mohammad Abdul Malek Mia, Supervising Engineer (Mechanical), has been appointed as the Acting Chief Engineer of Islamic University (IU).
The appointment was announced in an office order signed by the university’s Acting Registrar, Professor Dr Md Manzurul Haque, on Tuesday, August 11.
According to the office order, A. K. M. Sharif Uddin, who had been serving as Acting Chief Engineer, was relieved of his duties following his application. In the same order, Supervising Engineer (Mechanical) Mohammad Abdul Malek Mia was appointed to serve as Acting Chief Engineer until further notice.
The order stated that he would receive all benefits and facilities applicable under university regulations for performing his new responsibilities.
The newly appointed Acting Chief Engineer, Mohammad Abdul Malek Mia, said, “I have been working at the university since 2006. Before this, I served in various positions at the Engineering Office. I am also grateful to the Vice-Chancellor for entrusting me with this important responsibility.”
He said he would perform his duties with honesty and dedication from his position in the interest of the university. He also noted that cooperation from all concerned would be necessary in carrying out his responsibilities.
