DB Busts iPhone Cache, Three Chinese Nationals Held in Dhaka
Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) has arrested three Chinese nationals along with 363 iPhones of various models and iPhone spare parts during a raid in the capital’s Uttara area.
Police said the arrests were made on Wednesday (7 January) following an operation conducted in the capital. The raid was carried out late Wednesday night by a team from the DB’s Mirpur Division, confirmed Mirpur Division Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) Md Mahiuddin.
According to sources, acting on a tip-off, the operation was led by Uttara Division DC Md Mahiuddin Mahmud Sohel. During the raid, DB personnel seized 363 illegally imported iPhones of different models, along with assorted iPhone spare parts, and detained the three Chinese citizens.
Further details regarding the arrests and seizure will be disclosed at a press conference scheduled for Thursday morning, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Muhammad Talebur Rahman. The briefing will be held at the DMP Media Centre.
