Chorki Celebrates Four Flourishing Years in Streaming
On Saturday, July 12, Chorki—the Bengali content-focused OTT platform—celebrated its fourth anniversary, marking a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s digital entertainment industry. Since its launch on July 12, 2021, the platform has accumulated over 1 billion hours of content viewership and attracted more than 30 million registered users.
Over the past four years, Chorki has released more than 100 original titles, contributing to the evolution of storytelling and content production in Bangladesh. In a statement marking the occasion, Chorki CEO Redoan Rony expressed his gratitude to audiences, saying, “We’ve come a long way and achieved a few things only because of the trust you’ve placed in us. From the very beginning, we have tried to present stories and storytelling in a new style. We aim to make our content not just stories or productions but immersive experiences for our viewers.”
Chorki’s original productions have also garnered international acclaim. Director Shankha Dashgupta’s Priyo Maloti received an official selection in the World Cinema category at the Cairo International Film Festival and was also screened at the International Film Festival of India. The film won Best Picture at the Dhaka International Film Festival.
Additionally, Chorki Original Series 2X, directed by Nuhash Humayun, has been officially selected for prominent global festivals including Fantasia, Raindance Film Festival, Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival, and South by Southwest (SXSW).
Chorki’s fourth anniversary stands as a testament to the platform's growing influence and commitment to quality storytelling in the digital space.
