Inter-Hall Handball Kickoff at JUST: Campus Sports Championship 2026 Begins
The Inter-Hall Handball Competition 2026 has begun at Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) amid great enthusiasm. The tournament has been organized by the Physical Education Department of JUST. Special guest at the opening ceremony was Treasurer of JUST, Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun.
The competition was inaugurated at 3:30 pm on 11 April, Saturday, at the university’s central playground. The colorful and grand event was officially opened by Treasurer Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun. Students from two male halls—Shaheed Masiur Rahman Hall and Munshi Meherullah Hall—and two female halls—Tapasi Rabeya Hall Hall and Bir Pratik Taramon Bibi Hall—making a total of four halls, are participating separately in this competition. The final match of the tournament will be held tomorrow.
In his speech as special guest at the opening ceremony, Treasurer Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun said that JUST is a milestone not only in education but also in sports. He noted that the university is ahead of many others in maintaining a continuous tradition of sports. He urged all participating players to maintain sportsmanlike conduct, wished everyone good health, and encouraged all to continue their success in sports in the future.
At the event organized by the Physical Education Department, additional speeches were delivered by Deputy Director of the Physical Education Department Md. Abdullah-Hell Kafi and Assistant Director Abdul Wahed. Also present were Chairman of the Inter-Hall Handball Competition 2026 Organizing Committee Dr. Md. Hamidur Rahman, Provost of Munshi Meherullah Hall Dr. Md. Abdur Rouf Sarkar, and Provost of Bir Pratik Taramon Bibi Hall Dr. Mst. Afroza Khatun, Assistant Director (Physical) Ujjal Chandra Sutradhar, Physical Instructor Md. Shahinur Rahman, Md. Jahangir Alam, along with teachers, students, officers, and staff from various departments of the university. The event was conducted by Physical Instructor of the Physical Education Department Md. Raihan Rakib.
