Microsoft’s Copilot-Ready “Bluetooth Audio Sharing” Boosts Dual-Device Sound
Microsoft has announced the rollout of a new feature, “Bluetooth Audio Sharing,” allowing users to stream sound simultaneously to two wireless headphones, speakers, or hearing aids. The feature, which uses Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio technology, is currently being tested among Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels, according to The Verge.
This new addition will be particularly convenient when users want to watch a movie or share music with friends or family on a laptop. Once LE-supported devices are connected, pressing the “Shared Audio (Preview)” button will let both headphones play the same audio at once.
Earlier in August, Microsoft introduced LE Audio support to Windows 11, which improved sound quality in wireless headsets during gaming or calls. The “Bluetooth Audio Sharing” feature is now being gradually deployed to Copilot Plus PCs, such as the Surface Laptop (13.8-inch and 15-inch) and Surface Pro (13-inch). It will later expand to devices including Samsung’s Galaxy Book5 series and others.
To use the feature, users will need LE Audio-compatible devices such as Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds3, Buds3 Pro, or Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones.
