Viral “Murder Video” Misleads Netizens — Actually a Scene from Crime Patrol BD
A video recently went viral on social media showing a man dragging an injured person through a forest while several police officers stood nearby, watching and filming. Along with the footage came alarming captions claiming, “This is not a drama but the new reality of Bangladesh—killers drag bodies into the jungle as police stand by and record!”
However, a reverse image search revealed that the viral clip, circulated with the claim “Police helping hide a body,” is not real. It is, in fact, a behind-the-scenes video from the shooting of Crime Patrol BD, a crime drama series. The same video was first uploaded on October 31, 2025, from a Facebook account named “Arman Raj.”
The video later spread widely across Facebook and other platforms from pages and profiles such as Bangladesh Chhatra League, Mohit Pavel, and Md. Arif Hossain. Without verifying the source, users including Arif Sarkar, M. A. Kashem Chowdhury, Ismail Hossain Titu, Mohsin Mojumdar, and Ismail Hossain Tipu shared it as if it were a real incident.
A closer look at “Arman Raj’s” profile shows multiple photos and videos of him in a police uniform, playing the same character. In one post, he captioned, “Heading to arrest a suspect. From the shooting spot of ATN Bangla’s regular series ‘Crime Patrol.’” In another selfie video, he clearly mentioned that it was taken on the set of Crime Patrol BD.
The official YouTube channel and Facebook page of Crime Patrol BD also feature the same actor in several episodes. According to the page’s bio, “Crime Patrol BD is the official page of the Crime Patrol series based on real crime incidents in Bangladesh. Our aim is to raise awareness among rural communities and discourage criminal activities.”
These facts confirm that the viral video does not depict a real crime but rather a dramatized scene filmed for the series — one that was taken out of context and spread online with misleading claims.
