CUET’s Team ASRRO Crowned Champion at NASA-Backed Global Space Challenge 2025
Team Andromeda Space and Robotics Research Organization (ASRRO) from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has been crowned the world champion at the Global Space Challenge 2025, organized under the patronage of the U.S. space agency NASA.
The competition, hosted by Space Teams Academy, featured participation from over 40 teams representing more than 15 countries. It was held in three categories — Elementary, Middle School, and Senior/High School. CUET’s Team ASRRO triumphed in the Senior (High School and Higher) category with an impressive score of 499.8 out of 500.
Over the seven-day-long event, CUET’s participants showcased their expertise in various domains, including planetary science, spacecraft design, orbital mechanics, remote sensing, entry-descent-landing, extraterrestrial habitats, and human and robotic exploration.
Alongside earning the world championship title, Team ASRRO also won in the Best Team Video category. The winning team members are Sajib Kumar Kar and Shuvo Ahmed from the Department of Mechanical Engineering (4th year), Adil Mubasshar from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (3rd year), and Sudipta Banik from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (1st year).
The team’s faculty advisor was Professor Dr. Sajal Chandra Banik, Director of CUET’s Directorate of Research and Extension. The initiative was supported by CUET’s former Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Civil Engineering Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, as well as MIT scientist Mizanul Haque Chowdhury and his organization, STEMx 365.
