Robi Partners with Save the Children to Empower Youth with Digital Skills and Freelancing Training
Robi Axiata Limited, a publicly listed mobile network operator in Bangladesh, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Save the Children Bangladesh to provide digital skills, entrepreneurship, and freelancing training to adolescents and youth across the country.
The agreement was signed in Dhaka by ASM Rahmat Ullah, Acting Deputy Country Director of Save the Children Bangladesh, and Shahed Alam, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer of Robi Axiata Limited.
Robi announced the partnership on Tuesday, September 7, stating that under this collaboration, participants will receive not only training but also support for digital connectivity, including internet access. The initiative will also extend support to various school-based activities focused on enhancing digital literacy.
Moreover, Robi and Save the Children will work together to strengthen the capacity of community hubs focused on youth and adolescents, and will introduce innovative and awareness-raising activities through digital platforms.
Highlighting the importance of the initiative, ASM Rahmat Ullah stated, “Digital education and inclusion are crucial to harness the potential of the country’s young population. Many youth are still deprived of technological access. Through this initiative, we can enhance their skills and provide them with various opportunities that will help them become socially and economically self-reliant.”
Shahed Alam added, “We are committed to leveraging technology to bring positive change in society. Building digital skills among youth and making them employment-ready is our priority. Through this partnership with Save the Children, the scope of digital inclusion in Bangladesh will be broadened, and adolescents and young people will move forward in building a prosperous future for themselves.”
