E-Passport Expansion Embarks in Tashkent

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Uzbekistan has launched e-passport services at a formal ceremony held in Tashkent on Tuesday, September 30. The event was presided over by Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mohammad Monirul Islam.
Brigadier General Mohammad Nurus Salam, Project Director, attended as the chief guest, while Deputy Secretary of the Security Services Division, Nilima Afroz, joined as the special guest.
In his address, the chief guest highlighted the advantages of the e-passport and briefed attendees on the progress of the service initiative. He expressed hope that the introduction of e-passports would greatly benefit Bangladeshi citizens residing not only in Uzbekistan but also in neighboring countries.
Special guest Nilima Afroz, in her remarks, underscored various government measures and initiatives undertaken to make passport services more dynamic and meaningful.
Ambassador Monirul Islam described the launch of e-passport services in Tashkent as a significant milestone. He extended gratitude to all ministries and departments involved in making the initiative possible. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare and security of expatriates, he emphasized Bangladesh’s pro-diaspora policies and programs.
Acknowledging the vital contributions of expatriates to Bangladesh’s economic and social development, the ambassador called on them to continue playing an even stronger role in building an inclusive, prosperous, and equitable Bangladesh.
