The University of Asia Pacific (UAP) celebrated World Pharmacists Day 2025 with a day-long “Pharma Expo 3.0,” organized by the university’s Pharma Science Club (PSC). The event featured a poster exhibition by students, a Pharma Olympiad, quizzes including a live quiz competition, and a model pharmacy booth offering free health consultations and check-ups. Organizers said the program enabled students to gain practical insights into pharmacists’ contributions to society and healthcare, as well as their vital role in modern health services.

On Thursday, September 25, UAP Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan formally inaugurated the expo by cutting a cake and ribbon. In the afternoon, a health seminar was held, where discussions focused on disease prevention, rational use of medicine, and the importance of medical advice.

The inauguration was attended by Dean of the School of Pharmacy Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiya, Head of the Department of Pharmacy Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, faculty members, and students. Following the inauguration, a rally was held from the university campus to Green Road, during which participants distributed leaflets on dengue and chikungunya prevention.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan remarked, “Pharmacists play an indispensable role in healthcare. Without their contribution, modern treatment and disease prevention initiatives would be incomplete. Today’s expo will make students more aware of the responsibilities of pharmacists and their impact on society.”

Dean of the School of Pharmacy Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiya noted, “The Pharma Expo provides students with a unique platform to present their research and to foster innovative ideas in healthcare.”

The closing ceremony featured several distinguished guests, including Secretary of the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh Muhammad Mahbubul Haque, Professor Dr. Swarnali Islam Khandaker, Professor Dr. Irene Dewan, Director of the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Dhaka Professor Selim Reza.
