Google Launches AI Editing in Photos App
Google has introduced a new AI-powered photo editing feature for Android users, allowing them to edit images in Google Photos using simple voice or text commands in natural language. The announcement was reported by TechCrunch.
With this feature, users no longer need to navigate complex editing tools. By tapping the “Help me edit” button and describing the desired changes, the AI will execute the edits. Users can also rely on suggestions from Google’s Gemini AI or simply instruct, “Make it better.”
The tool offers a wide range of editing options—from basic adjustments in lighting and shadow control to more advanced features such as removing unwanted objects, restoring old photos, or changing backgrounds. It also enables the addition of imaginative elements for creative purposes. Users can refine edits further through sequential requests, ensuring more polished results.
Initially, this feature was made available exclusively to Pixel 10 users in the United States. It has now been extended to all Android users in the U.S., though with restrictions: only those over 18 years old and using the English language can access it.
At the same time, Google Photos has also introduced the C2PA Content Credentials system, which can identify whether a photo has been generated or edited using AI.
